I am sure everyone has been following the Olympics whether intentionally or by accident. Anyone striving for better fitness cannot help but be inspired by watching these determined Olympians compete.
These elite athletes train for years and push their bodies to the brink of their genetic physical potential. Each must overcome “I can or cannot do it” with every next televised meet. They break records! They stumble. They qualify. Some give up and some actually get out there and break a leg! Ow! Endorsement offers ensue! Finally, there are those who just keep on coming back to the next Olympics. Extraordinary.
When we set out to “lose a little weight,” it is not quite so glorious. No one is really watching. Those jeans make us qualify and we alone cheer or smile with glee to see one pound less on the scale. No wonder we often forget our goals with the next Happy Hour invite.
If you think about it, when was the last time you made a New Year’s resolution? Oh, you don’t do that anymore? Why? Well, that’s simple. Most I talk to, who fore go making resolutions, say they do not work. The truth is- that person is not resolute! That person does not work! To be resolute or to show resolve means that we try again for better or for busy. If a resolution didn’t work, you didn’t work- you just made a wish. We have to take a moment, drop our excuses and ready or not, just GO FOR IT! AGAIN!
(Read this aloud)
Today is my day! I am working toward MY personal best. I have a goal and I already see myself achieving it!
Did you read that? The journey to achieving your goals starts with the easiest assignment. Just by reading that, saying that and even partially visualizing that, you have exercised one of your most important muscles. Believing and doing it is next!
On this blog, we will work together to conquer the Think, Say & Do for being true to our fitness resolutions. Let’s go from “I’m just not that body type” and “I wish I could be like…” to “I can achieve my personal best” and “I think I am up for even more!”
I will post articles, videos and links on tips for balancing nutrition, following a fitness regime and staying motivated. This is the “Me” project because I will also share about my own journey as an example. In addition, I will also showcase other “Go Getter’s” in my life whose stories can also lend more inspiration and reality to what it means to be resolved.
Subscribe to my page using the box on the right hand side. Please do comment and send your questions! I am not a certified fitness trainer, nutritionist or guru but I am a teacher and fellow personal best Olympian.
It’s time to just GO FOR IT!
”Mom, do you think I can do this?” Her Mom, “Yes, you absolutely can.” “Well, okay then.”
